Bledsoe County Outdoor Writer Pat Roberson recently made a trip to Cave Run Lake near Morehead, Ky. after muskellunge. Roberson scored big on a trophy class, 50-inch muskie.
Roberson said he was fishing a section of the lake known as Zippo Flats.

Roberson said he was using 1-ounce Meat and Potatoes Black in-line spinner bait, steel leader, Berkley Rod, Reel and Braided 40# line.

The monster muskie was released unharmed. Roberson said it wouldn't take much for the huge fish to grow into a new Kentucky state record. The current Kentucky state record was 54 inches/47 pounds, also caught from Cave Run Lake in October 2008.

Roberson was fishing with Guide Tom Clay.
