Chattanooga Police said a man was shot in the hand earlier Saturday afternoon while fighting off an man trying to rob him in his home.
Police are investigating the shooting that occurred around 12:30 p.m. at 3301 Pinewood Dr.
According to Investigators, the incident was possibly a home invasion gone bad. The victim, Derrick Houston, 30, was shot in the hand when he fought with an intruder who he said attempted to rob him in his own home.
The black male suspect fled the scene and Mr. Houston drove himself to the hospital.
He was treated for a gunshot wound to the right hand and released.
