Louise E. “Weezie” O’Brien, of Hixson, died on Friday, Nov. 6, 2009, at Memorial North Park Hospital.
Louise was born July 25, 1940, in Passaic, N.J. She was the daughter of Irene Louise Meyer and William Conlin Meyer. She married Richard St. Lawrence O’Brien on July 9, 1960. She was a graduate of Rutherford (N.J.) High School and Laselle College, Auburndale, Ma.
Louise operated a day care in her home on Signal Mountain for over 20 years and touched many lives. She was a member of the St. Augustine Church parish, Ladies of Charity, Welfare Council, Soup Kitchen and several other local charities while living on Signal Mountain.
After moving to Hixson in 2004, she became very active in her neighborhood of wonderful friends.
She is survived by her two daughters, Professor Susan Mary O’Brien, of Eau Claire, Wi., and Patricia Mary O’Brien Ragan, of Hixson; her sister, Patricia Heublein; and three grandchildren, Robert H. Ragan, Rachael Elizabeth Ragan and Cameron Richard Ragan.
A funeral mass will be held at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 10, at St. Augustine Catholic Church with a reception and visitation to follow. St. Augustine Church is located on at 1716 Anderson Pike, Signal Mountain, 423 886-3424.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the Chattanooga Area Food Bank. The Food Bank is located at 2009 Curtain Pole Road, Chattanooga, Tn. 37406, 423 622-1800.
