Where is Fight the Hike when you really need them? The massive increase in the water quality fee, formerly known as a stormwater fee, is far more serious than the rate increase requested by the water company last year.
We really need Fight the Hike advocates to fight this hike. You didn't hear businesses saying they might have to close down because of the water rate increase, but we are hearing that now over the water quality fee increase.
Where are Randy Baker and Albert Waterhouse? Where are the NAACP, the Urban League and the Realtors Association? Where is the news media that covered Fight the Hike day after day after day?
In looking back at the water company's request, they were asking for an additional $36 a year. The water quality fee is raising the bills for businesses and churches by thousands of dollars a year, yet we haven't heard the first word from Fight the Hike.
Thank goodness for the Hamilton County Commission.
