An elderly woman was struck near 3400 Wilcox Boulevard in the early morning hours today as she attempted to cross the street.

According to witnesses, 76-year-old Annie Calloway was hit by a car traveling eastbound when she stepped off the curb into traffic around 6:50 a.m. The driver of the vehicle told police that it was raining and that she did not see Ms. Calloway until she had hit her.

Ms. Calloway suffered two broken legs as well as other injuries. She was taken to Erlanger Hospital, where her current condition is unknown.
