WTCI-PBS encourages nonprofit organizations to take part in the inaugural Be More Awards by applying for a Be More award.
In partnership with Allied Arts and the United Way’s Center for Nonprofits, WTCI’s Be More Awards will recognize non-profit organizations in six categories, each category honoring a different aspect of success at making a positive difference in our community.
Achievements to be recognized range from: Be More Collaborative (Partnership), Be More Enriched (Educational Outreach), Be More Creative (Innovation), Be More Impactful (Local Service), Be More Courageous (Individual Leadership) and Be More Engaging (People’s Choice).
Awards applications can be found online at www.wtciTV.org and will be accepted through Dec. 1.
“The Be More Awards are designed to applaud the outstanding and often unrecognized efforts of both individuals and non-profit organizations,” said WTCI President and CEO, Paul Grove. “We encourage all nonprofits to share their successes and be recognized for the good work they do in our community.”
Award finalists will be announced Jan. 22, 2010 along with nominees for the Be More Engaging (People’s Choice) Award. Nonprofits must apply in one of the five other awards categories to be considered for the Be More Engaging award.
Winners will be honored at the WTCI Be More Awards luncheon and awards ceremony on March 3, 2010 at The Chattanoogan. Judy Woodruff, senior correspondent for The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer, will be featured guest and keynote speaker.
