Orange Grove Recycling Hosts Free Shred Day

The John F. Germ Recycling Center
at Orange Grove will be hosting “Free Shred Day,” on Wednesday, Nov. 18, from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. at 460 Dodson Avenue. The one-day event is free
to local businesses and residents.

The center recently ventured into secure document destruction with its
“Better Shred than Read” operation, which is located on the Orange Grove
campus.

Features of the program include:
· Locked bins to secure confidential documents
· Collection trucks are equipped with GPS
· Closed-circuit video monitoring of all shredding
· 24-hour security monitoring, and video storage for 90 days
· Paper is shredded to 5/16” (smaller than 5/8” industry standard)
· Shredding process meets stringent federal specifications
· Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act Business
Associate Agreements provided

Orange Grove is an active member of the National Association for
Information Destruction and the Secured Document Alliance.

There is no limit to the amount to be shredded. Everything from boxes to
truckloads of paper materials will be accepted.
