In addition the McCallie crew posted the third fastest time in the entire regatta, besting all but two college teams.
Three of the rowers in this boat rowed in the boat that took second place at nationals two years ago. McCallie will be back at nationals in the spring.
The Hooch is a 5 K event and is a "Head" race, meaning that it is a timed event vs. the head to head racing that takes place in the spring and at nationals.
The McCallie Novice 8+ also took Gold in its event, beating 30 boats.
