Vacant House In East Ridge Suffers Heavy Fire Damage

A vacant house in East Ridge suffered heavy fire damage early Wednesday morning.

At approximately 2 a.m., East Ridge Fire/Rescue and Police responded to 4158 East Ridge Dr. on a residential structure fire. Fire crews arrived in three minutes to find heavy fire and smoke coming through the roof of the two-story home.

Firefighters worked aggressively both inside and out to stop the spread of the fire. The fire was isolated to one half of the home. The home was unoccupied at the time of the fire.

East Ridge fire/arson investigators are continuing to work this morning to determine the cause and origin of the fire. Damage is estimated at $85,000.

Units responding included East Ridge Quint 1, Squad 2, Rescue 1, Engine 1, Engine 2, and Support 1 and Memorial EMS. Fort Oglethorpe Squad 1 also responded on automatic aid.
