This year marks the tenth anniversary for Ooltewah/Collegedale’s Spirit of Christmas Parade, which will take place on Sunday, Dec. 6 at 3 p.m.
There is no limit on the number of parade participants. Sign-up forms are available at the Midnite Oil Service Station in Ooltewah on Lee Highway. There is a $20 application fee, all of which will benefit the Samaritan Center.
The parade participants will line up on Jac-Cate Road and Lodge Road. Line up starts at 12:30 p.m. on the day of the parade. For more information, contact Steve Ray at 643-1111 or steveray@comcast.net.
A representative of each group is asked to attend a pre-parade meeting on Dec. 3 at 6 p.m. at the Collegedale City Hall.
Last year the Samaritan Center helped more than 4,700 people with food, utilities, rent, life-sustaining medication, clothing, furniture, and other items. Donations like those from the parade ensure that the Samaritan Center will continue to be able to serve those who are most in need in the community.
