WTCI-TV (PBS) will air a short documentary this weekend featuring Fletcher Bright and the Dismembered Tennesseans, who were honored on Wednesday with the fourth annual Chattanooga History Makers Award. The documentary will air on Saturday, at 8:48 p.m., with encore presentations on Sunday, at 1 and 1:15 p.m.
Sponsored by the Chattanooga History Center, the Annual History Makers Award recognizes local individuals or groups who have made significant contributions to Chattanooga, the region, the state, or the country.
The 2009 honorees were chosen for the contributions they have made to southern regional music, both as cultural preservationists and musical entertainers. WTCI works in partnership with the Chattanooga History Center to produce short documentaries honoring each year's winner.

The documentary spotlights the 63-year journey of the Dismembered Tennesseans. The friendships, the fun and the unmistakable love of the music are the common threads which have defined this local bluegrass band since its beginnings.
Fletcher Bright has been central to this journey as an original co-founder of the band. Gathering musical knowledge from the best in the region and the world, Bright and the band have helped keep this important cultural element alive and in motion.
