Pirates' Robinson, Owls' Smith Receive Mr. Football Awards

NASHVILLE -- South Pittsburg's Terrell Robinson and Ooltewah's Jacques Smith were presented with Tennessee Titans Mr. Football Awards here Monday.

Robinson earned the Division I-A back award during a luncheon banquet and Smith was given the Division I-AAA lineman award.

Robinson has committed to sign with UT-Chattanooga, while Smith has committed to Tennessee. Smith was chosen the state's No. 1 prospect by the Knoxville News-Sentinel.

Robinson has led the Pirates to the Class 1A state championship game, where they will play Union City Friday at 1 p.m. eastern at Tennessee Tech University. He has thrown for 1,687 yards, rushed for 1,322 and has 46 total touchdowns.

Smith became only the fourth Chattanooga-area player to win the award in consecutive years. He had 57.5 tackles, 8.5 sacks and 23 tackles for loss this season and will graduate in December so he can enroll at Tennessee for the spring semester.
