Bill Hullander said he is seeking re-election to the County Commission District 9 seat, which he has held since 1998.

Commissioner Hullander, who currently serves as commission chairman, said, "I remain committed for a fiscally and morally stronger Hamilton County."

He pointed to a perfect attendance record, election to the chairman post, and "work with local, state and federal officials to secure and promote funding and support for projects not only in the Ninth District but countywide."

Mr. Hullander, is a Republican and member of the Pachyderm Club, but he said he "has the ability to work with all on the commission to benefit Hamilton County. This has enabled the County Commission to accomplish many tasks."

The candidate said, "This first term has been a time of learning more about how our county government works and the needs of our county. I look forward to continuing working for the people of the Ninth District and all of Hamilton County.

"These next few years will be a time to look closely at ways to get the best out of each dollar we spend. The state may force the county to cut back on some services provided by Hamilton County. Overall I feel we have a good commission that cares for the residents of Hamilton County, including our employees, schools, safety, jobs and keeping taxes to a minimum."

Mr. Hullander, a resident of Apison, has been married to Linda Hullander for 32 years and they have two children, Matt and Mandy.

District 9 includes the areas of Apison, Collegedale, Ooltewah, Harrison, Birchwood, Snow Hill and Meadowview.
