It's time again for the popular Bessie Smith Strut beginning at MILLER PLAZA'S CINGULAR WIRELESS STAGE with blues music by The Hybrids at 5:45, then at 7:15 with Carl Weathersby. Join the Women's Council on Diversity on Tuesday, June 11th from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the BESSIE SMITH HALL for a brown bag public forum discussion on diversity and education. The public is welcome to bring a sack lunch and participate in the program. City Council Chairman Ron Littlefield will begin, followed by the executive director of the Creative Discovery Museum, Henry Schulson. Emmanuel Seagar's soul-stirring gospel musical entitled " Lord, Why Do I Keep Choosing the Wrong Man?, with the Tony Award winnning actor Curtis Blake, and comedian Sir Walt, will be at the MEMORIAL AUDITORIUM for one performance only on Saturday, June 15 at 8 p.m. For ticket information please call 642-TIXS. Join in Saturday on the5k Riverbend Run starting at 8 a.m., with a one-mile walk/run beginning at 8:05 a.m. Both originate at BLUE CROSS BLUE SHIELD at 801 Pine Street. All participants will receive a Riverbend Run T-shirt. Registration fees through June 14 are $15 for adults and $10 for seniors 60 and older, and children under 12.
