Red Bank Approves Sunday Beer Sales posted October 1, 2002 The Red Bank City Commission voted 4-1 Tuesday night to allow Sunday beer sales at restaurants and taverns. Commissioner Pat Brown cast the only nay vote, saying the measure would not bring significant new tax revenue and could pose a safety problem from drunk drivers. Mayor Jewel Coleman said passing the measure showed Red Bank is "business friendly." He said it puts it on a level playing field with adjacent Chattanooga. Amigo Mexican Restaurant had requested Sunday beer sales. |
