The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency and TVA are cooperating in a special fishing venture at TVA's Lake Junior. TWRA is stocking rainbow trout in the lake according to TWRA Wildlife Manager Greg Atchley.

Lake Junior is located on the TVA Chickamauga Dam Reservation. It used to be a very popular recreation area until TVA closed it following budget cuts. The lake has sat relatively unused for several years.

However Atchley says it's being opened now on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

He said 2,500 trout, 12 - 14 inches long, were stocked in Lake Junior last week.

He says he expects another 2,000 to be stocked in mid-February.

The fish come from TWRA's Flintville Hatchery in Middle Tennessee.

Fishermen are required to have a regular fishing license as well as a state trout permit.
