Armour, Harold Decorated Veteran posted August 29, 2003 Harold Armour, 66, formerly of Chattanooga, died Monday, August 25, 2003, in a Clarksville hospital. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era and retired as a veteran. Among the awards he received while in the service include the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with seven campaign stars, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Overseas Service bars (2), Army Commendation medal, Army Service ribbon, Overseas Service ribbon (3), Vietnam Cross of Gallantry (Unit) and the Good Conduct Medal (6th award). He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille Armour. Survivors are stepson, Anthony Herring; two stepgrandchildren; one stepgrandchild; brother, Steven Walker; sisters, Jo Ann Hopkins and Vivian Holland; aunt, Lula Allen, all of Chattanooga; several nieces, nephews and cousins and other relatives; friend, John Hunt of Clarkville; and other friends. A graveside service will be Friday at 1:30 p.m. in Chattanooga National Cemetery. The body will lie in state after 8:30 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Home of Chattanooga, Inc. |
