Area Christian Bikers To Aid Daytona Bound Bikers posted February 23, 2004 As over 400,000 bikers make their way to Daytona Beach for the start of the “Bike Week” there will be a chance for them to stop and relax when they travel through Chattanooga. The Christian Motorcyclist Association chapter will be providing a free “coffee stop” at the Georgia Welcome Center on Saturday, February 28, and Sunday, February 29. Offering free coffee and snacks beginning at 7 a.m. both days, the service is free and open to all of those heading to bike week or on a motorcycle. Those riding come from all 50 states and Canada on their way to the 63rd annual event on every brand of motorcycle made and many traveling along I-75 make the stop in Chattanooga an annual event. “Some of these bikers come through every year and stop to see us,” said Harry T. Stone, CMA chapter president. "Helping to get everyone to Daytona safely is our goal.” Bikers who stop at the Welcome Center will be offered hot coffee, hot chocolate, tea, water, and lemonade as well as a number of different snacks. There is no charge for this service. “We want to encourage everyone on their way to Daytona to stop. whether they are riding their motorcycle or are towing,” said Mr. Stone. The North Georgia Welcome Center is located on I-75 southbound at mile marker 352 just five miles south of the Tennessee border. CMA is a non-denominational outreach Ministry of over 100,000 members and 750 chapters. The Chattanooga chapter (Choo-Choo Wheels of Worship) has over 70 members.
