GPS sophomores were both participants and audience when the Chattanooga-Hamilton County Health Department simulated an alcohol-related car accident at the school's lower field.
With the privilege of driving comes responsibility. That was the message relayed to the GPS sophomore class during a drunk-driving presentation by the Chattanooga-Hamilton County Health Department.

With classmates playing the roles of driver, passengers, and fatalities, the realism of the event was brought to life with the participation of 911 dispatchers, EMT paramedics, firefighters and the police.

Commissioner Larry Henry, Chief of Police Steve Parks, and Assistant District Attorney James Woods spoke to the students after the re-enactment, emphasizing the consequences of bad decision-making.

The 106 sophomores received key chains to symbolize their new driving licenses and also heard from a representative of MAKUS, the educational organization founded by the mother of a Notre Dame High School student who was killed in a crash.
