Enjoy Spring in Chattanooga with the following downtown events happening through Monday, May 3.
The Chattanooga Lookouts will take on the Huntsville Stars this Tuesday through Friday at BellSouth Park. Games will begin at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Wednesday's game will be at 12:15 p.m. Friday, April 30, is Hat Night, with the first 1,000 fans receiving free Lookouts baseball caps. For ticket information, call 267-2208.
The final performances for the Chattanooga Symphony & Opera are being held this weekend at the Tivoli Theater on Thursday and Friday, April 29 and 30 at 8 p.m. both nights. As part of the Suntrust Coca-Cola Beethoven Series, the CSO will perform Beethoven's Symphony No. 9 "Ode to Joy" with Robert Bernhardt conducting. For more information on this event call 267-8583.

The In-Town Gallery is celebrating its 30th Anniversary this year. On Friday, April 30, the Spring Preview Opening will be combined with an anniversary celebration. This gallery was the brainstorm of Dorothy Gannon who invited eleven other artists to join with her in this venture which opened on September 21, 1974, in the Read House. As the membership grew, the gallery moved to larger space at 718 Cherry Street in 1984, and again in 1994, to its present location at 26A Frazier Avenue in the developing North Shore district. The 37 artist-members will display all new work at the gallery on April 30, continuing through the summer. The In-Town Gallery offers a great variety of original fine art at reasonable prices: paintings and drawings in all media, photography, pottery and tiles, stained and fused glass, woodturned pieces; sculpture in clay, bronze and steel, custom-made jewelry, and "uncommon concrete" creations. Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and 1-5 p.m. on Sunday. Call 267-9214 for further information.
Memorial Auditorium welcomes Crunkfest 2004 on Saturday, May 1, at 8 p.m. This concert and video shoot will feature Sony Recording Artists Baby D, Lil John, Lil Flip, DJ Jelly, Tianni, Loreno, and many more. All seats are reserved at $15 in advance and $30 day of the show. Tickets are on sale now at Memorial Auditorium box office or you can charge by phone by calling 642-8497.
The Chattanooga Regional History Museum presents their Sunday Perks for Kids Series this Sunday, May 2, at 2 p.m. with "I Pledge Allegiance," from the On My Own History series of books for young people. Catch Sundays on the Southside with the Chattanooga Market from noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday, May 2, in the First Tennessee Pavilion, located at 1826 Carter Street next to Finley Stadium. The strawberries arrive this Sunday at the Market. This savory fruit sells out fast so be sure to get there early. The EPB stage will feature two incredibly talented female performers. Jennifer Daniels brings her incredible original folk music to the stage at 12:15. Following her will be Jodie Manross at 1:30. The five star chef demo will feature Rick Shell from the Chattanoogan preparing maple glazed pork at 12:30 and 2:30.
