2 Men Charged With Taking Pictures Of Girls At Riverbend posted June 18, 2004 Two out-of-town men have been charged in connection with taking pictures of teenage girls at the Riverbend Festival. Officers said the digital photos were being taken without the permission of the young girls. Each is charged with stalking and observation without consent. Charged are Jeremy Louis Farrell, 33, of Old Hickory and Mark Duane Rathbone, 35, of Niota. An officer said Rathbone denied the accusations, but said he had no problem with showing the pictures he was taking. Officers said they saw "several photographs of young women some of which were of the same nature of the complaint." The two men were taken to the sheriff's tent. Police said Rathbone stated he "knew it was wrong" and he signed a consent to search the camera. Officers said they identified two of the teenage girls, and they located them at the festival. They said the girls, who were 15, said they did not know their pictures were being taken and did not give permission. Officers said Farrell said he "did it because he thought it was fun." He said he downloaded the photos to his computer. The two men were taken to jail, and they eventually made bond. They are due to appear before General Sessions Court Judge Bob Moon on June 22 at 8:30 a.m. |
