Free Admission to Dancers and Anyone Interested

A “Grand Reunion Dance” is planned for this Sunday, July 11, at Allemande Hall, Standifer Gap at Gunbarrell Road with no admission charge and the invitation extended to “everyone who has ever danced at the hall to join in the dancing or just reminisce with old friends.”
The reunion dance is scheduled from 2 to 5 p.m. with “early rounds” from 1 to 2 p.m. While there is no admission charge, donations will be accepted for the upkeep of the hall.
Callers, cuers and line dance leaders will be providing the leadership talent.
There will be coffee and lemonade to quench the thirst, but the main thrust of the event is to bring together those who have danced at the hall and at the same time introduce any interested first timers to Allemande Hall and the events that are held there. “It is an opportunity for people to take a look at our glorious hall,” a the announcement said, adding, “we are extremely proud of this place that visiting national callers say is ‘the best in the country.’"
Allemande Hall was built in the mid-1970s by dancers for dancing. At the time it was built, most of the expertise and labor was provided by dancers who were tired of having to find schools, churces, etc., to hold their dances Some dancers had had the foresight to buy a few acres out in the country – at lease it was in the country then - and the dancers bought shares and went to work. The result was the Allemande Hall dance facility.
Anyone interested in square dancing or round dancing is invited to the Sunday reunion to learn more about the local program.
