Argue anything you want, tell me how much you hate our President, how much you disagree with him, but I saw the lowest of the low from the Democrat candidate tonight.
John Kerry actually went after VP Richard Cheney's daughter! "She is a lesbian," Kerry chortled. How the heck does a presidential candidate get away with bringing in the sexual orientation of one of the candidates kids into the debate?
Kerry's drag is one of the worst political moves I've ever seen. That's the lowest of the low to go after a candidates child. True, Kerry could have gone further and did the same with the Bush girls for drinking.
But, why on earth would Kerry bring someone's sexuality into the debate? First of all, its not Kerry's business. Second, its not a government issue. For those that want to make it a government issue, I'm not with you. The government stance is right now comfortable to me that a marriage is between a man and a woman.
I will bow a bit to the liberal side of this matter insomuch that I do believe that same sex couples should have the same rights of married couples by means of a Civil Union. I don't agree that a Civil Union equals a marriage, but it's a Civil Union, by law.
But, Kerry had to bring the issue into the debate. So Shameful.

I do agree that Kerry should not have mentioned Cheney's daughter. However, Kerry did not introduce the issue of homosexuality. This was brought up by the moderator.
Second, the whole issue of gays, gay marriage, etc. was first brought up the Bush adminstration with the Defensive Marriage Act. The Bush Adminstration fosters hatred among Christians against gays. Frankly, I am tired of all this Christian hypocrisy.

How in the world does Mr. Owens misinterpret that exchange in last night's debate as John Kerry "attacking" Dick Cheney's daughter for being a lesbian? (What exactly is a "chortle"? I certainly didn't detect any.)
The question put to the candidates was ABOUT homosexuality and Kerry was
alluding to the Vice President's daughter as someone who should absolutely receive equal treatment under the law and who was born with a specific orientation. President Bush claims not to know if people are born with a specific sexual orientation and John Kerry was saying what most scientists conclude: that one's sexuality is not a matter of choosing but of birth. I liked that Kerry gave a conclusive response. The President's seemed, dare I say it, wishy-washy.
