For those who fly fish, winter means it’s time to fish for trout at The Gardens at Callaway™.
The lakes are stocked with rainbow trout in the 15 to 22-inch range, brook trout in the 12 to 16-inch range and some brown trout weighing up to 16 pounds.
“Many of the rainbows stocked this year are the heavier-bodied and harder fighting Kamloops strain and the unique albino rainbows,” said Carl Warmouth, fishing operations manager at Callaway. “All of our guests are having a great time fly fishing for trout.”

Callaway is an ideal location for fly fishers looking for a legitimate shot at a trophy trout or anyone who normally travels north to trout fish but are looking to stay closer to home. With the activity level of bass and bream slowing due to the cold weather, trout fishing is a great alternative.

Trout fishing at Callaway is available through May by booking a guided trip for up to two people for $195 per half day or $295 per full day. These rates include use of premium equipment. The full-day trip also includes lunch. Novices and experts alike are welcome. Fly-casting instruction is available for beginning anglers.
