A woman waiting for a bus on MLK Boulevard near Central Avenue said she was attacked by a man armed with a brick.
Tia Robinson said a black male came up behind her and hit her in the head with the brick.
When she stooped down, he hit her in the face with the brick, knocking her all the way to the ground. He then went through her pockets, getting $3.
Ms. Robinson was treated for her injuries at the Erlanger Medical Cetner emergency room.
Quincy L. Scott said he was ganged in the 500 block of MLK Boulevard - at a parking lot at University Street and MLK.
He said he was jumped by five black males dressed in red because he was from "out east."
Police said he had to be taken to the hospital by ambulance with several cuts and lumps to his head and face. He was bleeding on his face and clothes.
Roy Layne had just pulled into the parking lot of the Longbranch Bar on Rossville Boulevard and was getting out of the car.
He heard a man come up and yell at him, "Get out of the car, dog." The man was pointing a silver 25-caliber automatic pistol at him.
The man had him clean out his pockets, getting his cell phone and $90.
The robber then drove east on 50th Street in Mr. Layne's 2001 silver Kia Rio.
Ellen Bivens said she was at the parking lot of the CVS Pharmacy on State Street when a man asked her for a ride.
When she declined, the man said, "Give me your pocketbook." She struggled, but he got it away from her and ran to a pickup truck that had two white males in it.
Ms. Bivens said the purse had no money in it.
Christopher McDaniel was a guest at the Chattanoogan hotel. He and his wife went out to dinner, leaving $1,200 in cash on a nightstand. He said he thought it was safe because the room had already been cleaned. But it was gone when they got back to the room.
Chattanoogan officials said only cleaning staff have access to the rooms, and they would try to pinpoint who had gone in the room.
Ronald Bunger of Mauldeth Road found his rear door window was broken. A thief took two cameras, his computer, a palm pilot, jewelry and $500 cash.
He found a tire iron on his computer chair.
At the Darr residence on South Crest Road, it was found that a light was on in the bedroom. All the dresser drawers had been emptied onto the floor.
Items missing included rings, bracelets, watches, a gun and $250 cash.
At Scrapbooking on Hamilton Park Drive, thieves pried open the back door. They got $300 cash and $250 in checks out of two cash registers.
