posted April 19, 2005

Mayor Ron Littlefield on Tuesday named Dan Johnson as his chief of staff.

Mr. Johnson, who came in third in the March 1 mayoral voting before throwing his support to Mr. Littlefield, will oversee the day-to-day operations of city government.

Mayor Littlefield said, "I am delighted that Dan has agreed to serve in my administration and that he will be taking on the responsibilities of this important role.

"Dan is a seasoned professional who brings with him many years of experience in operations and finance and who has been a vital part of making Chattanooga a strong community."

Mr. Johnson recently retired as the founder and a partner in the Johnson, Hickey and Murchison accounting firm.

He said, "It is an honor and a privilege to be able to serve Mayor Littlefield and the community that I love in this way.

"Chattanooga is thriving and vital and I look forward to working with Mayor Littlefield, our great city employees, and all of our citizens to continue the work of building this great city."
