County Commissioner William Cotton said he hoped to get jobs for the Southside from the E-Cycle Management firm that turned out to be an FBI undercover operation.
Commissioner Cotton met Feb. 9 at the Southside Grill with an E-Cycle representative, County School Board member Charles Love and County Mayor Claude Ramsey.
Mr. Ramsey said the E-Cycle official discussed setting up a warehouse in Hamilton County at the luncheon.
He said he never heard any followup from the meeting.
Mr. Love was indicted for alleging being the "bag man" delivering money from E-Cycle to state legislators willing to push a bill for the firm.
Commissioner Cotton said he had hopes the firm would set up the warehouse to handle recycled computers and it would provide about 50 jobs here.
He said he recommended a couple of possible locations, including the former Chattanooga Glass Company site in Alton Park.
Commissioner Cotton said he did not have other contact with E-Cycle Management other than the proposed warehouse here.
He and Mr. Love have both worked as lobbyists in Nashville.
