Judge Moon Entertains Pachyderm Club
posted June 6, 2005

Hamilton County General Sessions Court Judge Bob Moon, entertained the Chattanooga Pachyderm Club at the Chattanooga Choo Choo on Monday with humorous stories from his career as a lawyer and judge.

Judge Moon was introduced by attorney Hal North, who noted that Judge Moon had won 103 out of 104 precincts in 1998 and had organized the Chattanooga Lawyers’ Pro Bono Committee and the CJ Project, which, he said, had assisted hundreds of disadvantaged adults and underprivileged children.

County Commissioner Curtis Adams presented Judge Moon with a clock on behalf of the Hamilton County Commission for “his good advice and assistance in creating the magistrates and assisting the county in improving the legal system.”

Commissioner Adams stated, “Judge Moon is a friend of the County Commission.”

Judge Moon shared several comical stories with the group including when he served as a legislative assistant in the Tennessee State Senate during his senior year in college. The jurist stated that “Sometimes elected officials take themselves too seriously. The only things really important in life is what they are going to put in our obituaries; our family, friends, church, and what we have done for other people. What we laugh about is equally as important as what we cry about.”
