Motorcycle Issue Maybe Should Be A Non-Issue
posted July 15, 2005

Chattanooga has become a wonderful place to live. The Riverfront, Walnut Street Bridge, Nightfall, Aquarium, Coolidge Park, just to name a few places and events that puts our city "second to none."

Our community succeeded with great leadership, people with vision, and with people being very inclusive. No community, organization, or business can move ahead without being inclusive and diverse.

We are all just human and will have disagreements. That's why it's great to be an American, so we can express our opinion. Maybe there are more important items to respectfully disagree on than motorcycles at Nightfall. I've noticed over the years that successful people pick and choose their battles very wisely. It appears to me it would be more productive to focus our energy on schools, property taxes, creating better jobs, and finding ways to help the less fortunate an elderly in our community.

I have gone to Nightfall every Friday this summer and enjoyed the music. I don't own a motorcycle and do not intend to buy one, but I enjoy looking at the fancy machines and appreciate the hard work the cyclists do to keep their cycles in showroom condition. They do not interfere with my listening to the music or just mingling around talking to friends. Also during the concert, I don't hear others complaining about the motorcycles. All of the cyclists that I've talked with have been very cordial and most try to observe the parking rules.

Let's all enjoy Nightfall and all the nice things Chattanooga has to offer.

Proud to be a Chattanoogan.
