County Commission To Vote Wednesday On Ethics Guidelines posted July 28, 2005 The County Commission will vote next Wednesday on new ethics guidelines. Commissioner Richard Casavant said the rules of conduct "are not something that will be crammed down anyone's throat." He said they are "a statement we can all make comfortably." The guidelines include a preamble as well as a list of principles of conduct. They include - honoring the oath of office - honest, openness and accountability - respect for others - stewardship of county resources - excellence in continued learning - impartiality - not accepting gifts offered to influence something in return Each commissioner is responsible for his or her own conduct, the code says. |
