Habitat to Dedicate Realtor-Built Home on Monday Association Finishes Second Shepherd Park House Irby Park posted August 19, 2005 Habitat for Humanity of Greater Chattanooga will dedicate a new home on Monday, Aug. 22, funded and built by members of the Chattanooga Association of Realtors in Habitat’s Shepherd Park development. The new Habitat house at 5820 Patrick Place will be the home of Natasha Smith and her family who will take part in the dedication. John Lamb, resource manager for Habitat, said since 1986 “Habitat has helped more than 170 Chattanooga families enjoy the benefits of homeownershilp. Habitat’s zero interest loans and its homeowner education programs give its partner families a hand up, not a handout.” Habitat for Humanity of Greater Chattanooga is affiliated with Habitat for Humanity International. Ms. Smith’s home is the second home funded and built by Chattanooga Association of Realtors. Chattanooga Realtors, dedicating their lives to helping people find homes, entered into the partnership with Habitat as a natural association to help provide simple, decent and affordable housing for local families who would otherwise be unable to own their own homes. The new home to be dedicated Monday is located off Shepherd Road near Highway 153 and the Metropolitan Airport. |
