Parrots Of The Caribbean Fundraiser Is Sept. 17

Parrots of the Caribbean, a fundraiser to benefit the environment of the Caribbean through the programs of Caribbean Student Environmental Alliance (Caribbean SEA), is set for Sept. 17 from 3-11 p.m.

Co-sponsored by the River City Parrothead Club, the fundraiser will be held at Pirate's Island at Island Cove Marina. Tickets are $35 in advance, and $40 at the gate. Ticket price includes a BBQ plate and soft drinks.

Participants should bring their chairs or blankets and coolers to enjoy the music by the water. There will be a shuttle from the Holiday Inn on Shallowford Road.

The schedule of the bands is: 3-4 p.m. will be One Shot Down; 4:15-6 p.m. will be K.D. Moore; 6:15-7:45 p.m. will be Matt Hall; and Sunny Jim will be from 8-11 p.m.

K.D. Moore and Matt Hall have both played with Jimmy Buffett and Sunny Jim played in the Cayman Islands for 10 years and plays a variety of calypso and Buffett tunes.
