Pastor's Home Burns After House Is "Rolled"
posted September 25, 2005

A pastor's house on Hidden Trail Lane burned Sunday morning after an incident in which the house was "rolled."

The Tri-Community Volunteer Fire Department responded around 9 a.m. to a report of a residential structure fire at 2802 Hidden Trail off Standifer Gap Road. Upon arrival firefighters found the home engulfed in flames and requested mutual aid from Catoosa County Fire Rescue and the Highway 58 Volunteer Fire Department. Catoosa County was already responding to a report of a house fire on Dietz Road and could not respond (this was later found to be a potholder on the stove and no structure was on fire).

Hamilton County Rescue also assisted at the scene.

According to Tri Community firefighters, the homeowner, a pastor, came out of the house Sunday morning to find it had been rolled with toilet paper. He removed the paper and burned it, piling the remains on his front porch. He and his family then left for church.

The paper rekindled and caught the porch and eventually the rest of the house on fire.

The residence is that of Troy Walliser.
