Chattanooga Fitness Center Has Line-Up Of Classes posted December 29, 2005 The City of Chattanooga Fitness Center offers a variety of fitness classes and programs, along with free weights and strength and cardiovascular machines. They are located at 1254 East Third St. inside Warner Park and are open Monday through Thursday 8 a.m. – 8 p.m., Fridays 8 a.m. – 7 p.m. and Saturday 8 a.m. till noon. Admission fee is 50 cents. Some classes and programs require an additional fee. Please call 697-1320 for more information. Bone Density Scans for Osteoporosis are scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 4, at the City of Chattanooga Fitness Center located in Warner Park. Scheduling times are 8:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. and 4–7 p.m. Bone mass measurement is a simple painless test that takes five minutes and the cost is $5. Call 697-1320 to sign up. Trim Tighten and Tone is a six week workout program designed to trim tighten and tone the entire body. Classes are held at Brainerd Recreation Complex Jan. 3 – Feb. 9. Cost is $55 for all six weeks. Contact Christine Post, a Nationally Certified Personal trainer and Fitness Instructor at 698-2578 to reserve a spot. Holiday hours at the Chattanooga Fitness Center at Warner Park, starting Monday, Dec. 19 through Jan. 2, are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday, 8 a.m. to noon. They will be closed Jan. 1 and 2. Gentle Yoga & Tai Chi with David Nazar are offered at the CAPERoom at Chattanooga Fitness Center at Warner Park. Gentle Yoga will be held Saturday mornings at 9:30 a.m., starting Jan. 4, for eight weeks. Gentle Yoga is a flowing style of Yoga suitable for everyone, and especially helpful for people with back injuries, said officials. The cost for eight classes is $40. Tai Chi will be held Saturday mornings at 10:45 a.m., also starting Jan. 4, and running for eight weeks. The slow, graceful movements of tai chi are as beautiful to watch and perform as they are good for your health and well-being, said officials. Learn temple exercises and the beginning of the short yang form. The cost is $32 for all eight classes. Sign up for both classes for $70. All major credit cards accepted. David Nazar has been a certified yoga instructor since 1985, and has been teaching yoga and tai chi in the Chattanooga area for almost 20 years. Mr. Nazar uses only positive reinforcement in his teaching. Complete Core Training, X-Treme Abs with instructor Ralph Aaron, will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12-12:45 p.m. Cost is $2 per class, which includes entry fee. Hard Core X-Treme Training, Maximum Total Body Conditioning for an X-treme workout, with instructor Ralph Aaron, will be offered on Monday and Wednesday at 7 p.m. Mr. Aaron has been the conditioning specialist for the Fire and Police Training Center since 1997. Cost is $5 per class. Call The Fitness Center at 697-1320 for more information. Adaptive Tae Kwon do will be held on Fridays at 5 p.m. Cost is $1 and the instructor is Donnie Bryson. |
