Dartie F. Dean, 87, of Chattanooga, died Wednesday, January 11, 2006 in a local hospital.
He was retired from DuPont and a veteran of the United States Army. He was a member of Tucker Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rose Dean; son, Wayne Blackwell; brothers, Simon Dean, Miles Dean and Homer Taylor; sisters, Dovie Dean and Mildred Wade.
He is survived by his sons, Ronald and Phil Blackwell; daughters, Stephanie (David) Newson and Wanda (Freddy) Jones; eleven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brothers, Bobby (Gloria) Dean and Lewis (Rosa) Dean; sisters, Inez Martin and Edna Rucker; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at Tucker Baptist Church with Pastor M.T. Billingsley officiating. Burial will be in National Cemetery.
Visitation will be on Tuesday from 7-8 p.m.
