Opal’s Baby by John Patrick is the offering for the Signal Mountain Playhouse this winter. The show will be directed by David Wood and features a cast of Playhouse veterans including Janet McInturff at Opal, Teresa Barnes as Rosie, Lee Abelson as Norman, Scott Taylor as Spencer, Jenny Nash as Verna, and Freda Richie as Granny.

Opal Kronkie is a very good hearted soul who always sees the silver lining. When some kinfolks arrive unannounced, she welcomes them into her home which is a virtual museum of found objects from the city dump next door. A plot hatches and thickens with hilarious results.

The show runs Feb. 10, 11, 17, 18, 24, and 25 at the Mountain Arts Community Center at 809 Kentucky Ave., just off the main Mountain highway.

Tickets are $10 for all seats. This price includes dessert and coffee before the show with dessert from 6:45-7:45 p.m. Curtain is at 8 p.m.

Tickets are sold at the door, and reservations aren’t necessary, but if you wish to purchase your tickets in advance, they are available at the Mountain Arts Community Center (MACC) or at The Brow Gallery Gift Shop at 1221 Taft Highway.
