Home Sustains Heavy Fire Damage While Owner Is Out Of Town posted January 29, 2006
At approximately 1:40 a.m., Tri-Community Volunteer Fire Department responded to a report of a residential structure fire. Weidner Lane is a newly-named street that runs east from Ooltewah-Ringgold Road just north of Dexter Lane (2700 block of Ooltewah-Ringgold Road). The first fire engine reported heavy fire consuming approximately three-fourths of the structure. That engine company laid a line from Ooltewah-Ringgold Road up Weidner Lane, which is a dirt road. No one was home at the time and the one dog present was uninjured. Members of the Tri-Community VFD fought the fire. Hamilton County EMS stood by and Chattanooga Hamilton County Rescue Squad provided rehab. There were no injuries reported. A cause had not yet been determined.
