Residents Escape From Burning House At Soddy-Daisy
posted February 17, 2006

Residents of a Soddy-Daisy home had to escape by knocking out a window after their house caught fire on Thursday.

The Soddy-Daisy Fire Department responded to smoke coming from a house on Mathews Road late Thursday night. Firefighters found heavy smoke coming from the front of the residence. The fire department was able to stop the fire from spreading to other rooms.

One of the residents had to be taken to the hospital for treatment for cuts to hand and chest pains.

Asst. Chief Barry Hargis called for fire investigators to respond to the scene "because this is not the first time the fire department has responded to this residence."

Cause of the fire is undetermined at this time, said investigator Jerry Workman.
