Superintendent Search Process Nearing Conclusion
5 Finalists Expected To Be Announced Thursday Night

Meetings have been set on narrowing down the choice for the new Hamilton County school superintendent.

The search firm of Hazard, Young and Attea of Illinois is expected to narrow down its list of five finalists soon, and they are expected to be announced on Thursday night.

Among the applicants is Charles Lindsey, 62, superintendent of the Knox County Schools. He headed the Catoosa County Schools from 1981 to 1986.

The Superintendent Search Advisory Committee will hold meetings to get the choice down to three to replace Dr. Jesse Register.

The County School Board has set meetings to make the final selection.

Board members are to visit the home district of their choice prior to the April 20 vote.

Room at 6703 Bonny Oaks Dr. as follows:

Thursday, March 2 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Interview Training

Friday, March 3 5:00 – 9:45 p.m. Interview Candidates

Saturday, March 4 7:45 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Interview Candidates

The Hamilton County Board of Education will meet in the board room

Monday, March 6 5:30 – 8:30 p.m. Interview Training

Thursday, March 9 5:00 – 6:30 p.m. Budget Work Session

Friday, March 10 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Interview Candidate

Saturday, March 11 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Interview Candidates
Discussion

The Hamilton County Board of Education will meet at 3 p.m. on
Thursday, March 16, to identify the final candidate for superintendent. The place for this meeting will be announced.

The Hamilton County Board of Education will meet in quarterly session on Thursday, March 16, at 5 p.m. in the auditorium at Tyner
Academy.

County School Board Chairman Chip Baker stated, “In addition to the superintendent search meetings already scheduled the final three candidates will each spend a day visiting our schools and touring our community. Then prior to appointing a new superintendent at the April 20 Regular Session, the Board plans to make a site visit to the final candidate’s current home school district.”
