The third annual event which will take place at Liberty Technical School is affiliated with the Miss America Pageant. The winner will represent Tennessee at the second Miss America’s Outstanding Teen competition later this year.
Miss Breedwell, Chattanooga’s Outstanding Teen, is a sophomore at Baylor where she is a cheerleader and a member of the Concert Choir, Chess Club, Red Circle Club and the National Honor Society. She recently won the Overall Academic Math Award at the Math Olympics held at Tennessee Wesleyan.
She is also an admissions host and involved with Baylor’s Habitat for Humanity.
The daughter of Pam and Randy Breedwell, she wants to become a broadcast journalist specializing in criminal investigations.
Miss Breedwell will sing her rendition of “At Last” during the talent competition. “Leaders are Achievers” is her community service theme.
Miss Leak, Tennessee Valley’s Outstanding Teen, is a ninth grade student at the Center for Creative Arts. The daughter of Lynn and Lebron Reeves, her career goal is becoming a veterinarian.
She is the recipient of the Girl Scouts’ Bronze Award and is working towards obtaining her Silver.
Miss Leak will be singing “Reflection” for her talent presentation. Her platform focuses on Combating Community Hunger.
She participates in track and field as well as volleyball.
The Teen contestants are judged in talent, interview, evening gown, physical fitness, casual wear and an on-stage question.
The 39 women competing in June’s Miss Tennessee Pageant will be special guests along with current titleholder Tara Burns.
The Teen Pageant along with the Tennessee Princess competition is being held in conjunction with the Miss Tennessee Workshop. The workshop is a two day event during which meetings are held in preparation for the state competition.
Nine women will be representing the Chattanooga area in June. Rachel Parsons of Jasper is Miss Chattanooga; Ooltewah’s Ansley Reagan is Miss Cleveland; Stefanie Wittler of Soddy-Daisy is Miss Hamilton County; Miss Metropolitan is Chattanooga’s Blaire Pancake; Miranda Wasmer of Hixson is Miss Pride of Middle Tennessee; Alison Parson of Michie is Miss Scenic City; Murfreesboro’s Danielle Colburn is Miss Southeast Tennessee; Kristen Johnson, also of Murfreesboro, is Miss Tennessee Valley and Elizabeth Jane Chedester of Knoxville is Miss Volunteer.
