21st Annual Dolly Parade Set To Roll Through Pigeon Forge
posted March 27, 2006

The City of Pigeon Forge will host the 21st Annual Dolly Parade on April 7, celebrating the start of a new decade of entertainment for the popular East Tennessee park. The theme for the 2006 parade will be “Dolly’s Smoky Mountain Adventure,” and Sevier County’s own Dolly Parton once again will serve as parade grand marshal.

Parade entries will include local entertainers, marching bands and a number of floats courtesy of local and area businesses and civic groups. In addition to adding more music to the event, high school marching bands, competing in the new Pigeon Forge Music Festival, will be judged on their parade performance. More than 60,000 people view the parade each year, and many travelers have made attending the event an annual spring tradition.

The Dolly Parade will get underway at 6 p.m., starting near Traffic Light #7 and traveling north along the Parkway to Traffic Light #3. More Pigeon Forge information is available at 1-800-251-9100 and www.mypigeonforge.com.
