Nine Area Girls Voted To TSWA All-State Basketball Teams by Stan Crawley posted March 29, 2006 Nine area players have been voted to the Tennessee Sports Writers Association girls all-state basketball teams. Bradley Central's Jackie Pickel and Walker Valley's Alyson Butler were chosen in Class AAA. Pickel will play at Middle Tennessee State and Butler is headed to Alabama. In Class AA, the honorees were Tyner's Katrich Williams and Grundy County's Megan Rollins. Williams was a four-year starter at Tyner and Rollins averaged 14.2 points-per-game her senior season. In Class A, Temple's Danielle Rector, Grace's Liz Carroll and Whitwell's Tiffany Barnes were chosen to the first team. Rector was the first Temple player chosen all-state. Carroll led Grace to the state sectionals and Barnes was the District 6 MVP. In Divison II, the honorees were GPS' Carly Morrow and Brandi Andrews. Morrow averaged 14 points-per-game and Andrews averaged 4.7 assists.
