Bradley County Man In ICU With Head Injury After Argument posted April 10, 2006 A Bradley County man was admitted to intensive care at Erlanger Medical Center on Sunday after witnesses reported seeing him "pile drive" head first into the ground during an argument. The same witnesses also said he was struck by the assailant several times and they had to pull the suspect from the 18-year-old victim. The victim was transported to Bradley Memorial Hospital but was later airlifted to Erlanger Medical Center for treatment of a head injury. Deputies who responded to the call were told the two had been arguing at the intersection of Woolen Street and 8th Street and that the suspect had fled on a bicycle after the incident. His condition is not known at this time. Meanwhile, investigators are pursuing leads in the case and could file charges as the investigation continues. Deputies investigated a theft of several items of clothing from a residence on Thorne Circle; the theft of a bicycle on Forest Drive; and the burglary of an out building over the last two weeks on Laurel Bluff Road resulting in the loss of a bicycle and 14 vehicle radiators. A woman picking up her daughter at Oak Grove Elementary School reported someone stole her purse while she was away from her vehicle. Her purse contained a $100 gift card, two checkbooks, and her cell phone. Four cases of soft drinks were taken off a delivery truck on Friday while the driver was delivering soft drink products to a store in the 1800 block of APD-40. A witness reported seeing a white male take four cases of Coca-Cola products from the truck and then run behind a motel nearby. The loss of soft drinks was placed at $40. A hit-and-run driver who caused water to flood the intersection of Old Tasso Place and Tasso Lane is still being sought. A fire hydrant at that intersection was broken off below ground level after apparently being run over by a vehicle. Cleveland Utilities had to shut off water flow to the hydrant until repairs were completed. No information was available on the vehicle that caused the damage. |
