Woman Clubbed Man To Death With Baseball Bat Left Body In Her Bedroom Over The Weekend posted April 27, 2006 A Fairleigh Street woman told police she clubbed Martin Escuelanto-Martin to death with a baseball bat. Machelle Antoinette Green said she left the body in her bedroom over the weekend after the Friday night killing. She said on Monday morning she dragged the body out of the bedroom and into some woods behind the boarding house. She covered it with a sheet. Ms. Green, 27, is facing charges of first-degree murder and abuse of a corpse. She is due to appear before General Sessions Court Judge David Bales on May 5 at 8:30 a.m. The body of the 41-year-old Guatemala native was found in the woods on Monday. It was partially decomposed. Police questioned occupants of 2305 Fairleigh Street, which is a house divided into four units. The victim lived in one unit and Ms. Green in another. Police said Ms. Green gave them a recorded confession. The medical examiner said the victim, who was also known as Francisco Pablo, died from multiple blunt force trauma to the head. Ms. Green is being held at the County Jail on bonds totaling $610,000. |
