The new McKamey Animal Care and Adoption Center is holding a SpokesDog and MasCat Contest from May 1-13.
The shelter is "searching for a friendly, photogenic canine and feline representative to serve as the SpokesDog and MasCat of the McKamey Animal Care and Adoption Center."
Officials said, "Chattanooga’s new animal center will soon be a reality. The 21,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility on 10 acres will provide comprehensive services for adoption, animal population control, education and animal rescue -virtually redefining animal care in our community."
To be the “Spokes Dog” and the “MasCat,” the McKamey Animal Care and Adoption Center is looking for "the most adorable, talented and unique dog and cat in our community."
Officials said, "Are you the proud owner of an exceptionally talented canine or feline that can be Chattanooga’s Benji and Morris the Cat? The winning pets will be the stars of print, TV and radio to promote the new McKamey Animal Care and Adoption Center.

Complete the entry form and attach a high-resolution digital color image (300 dpi at a minimum of 4” wide; jpg or tif formats accepted). Along with your photo, please submit a written description of no more than 50 words about why your dog or cat should be chosen to represent the McKamey Animal Care and Adoption Center.
To Enter Through U.S. Mail
Send color prints no larger than 8X11” to Animal Care Trust c/o SpokesCritter Photo Contest, P.O. Box 1028, Hixson, TN 37343. You must include name, address, phone, e-mail and 50-word or less description on the back of each photo.
Contest Details
Winners will serve for one year and will be asked to attend various promotional events as well as appear in advertising including TV, radio, and print.
Basic obedience training and ability to get along with adults, children and other dogs and cats will be heavily considered.
All photos become the property of the Animal Care Trust and McKamey Animal Care and Adoption Center. Photos will not be returned.
Entries must be received by May 13.
Finalists will be interviewed May 15–20. You must bring your pet to the interview.
Winners will be announced on May 25 on Newschannel 9’s This n That with Don Welch.
