Hamilton County Bands Perform At State Concert Festival

Three Hamiton County high school band programs were honored for their accomplishments by a performance at the Tennessee Music Educators
Association State Concert Festival held April 27-28 at Austin Peay State
University in Clarksville, Tenn.

In order to be invited to perform, each ensemble had to receive Superior ratings in both concert performance and sight reading the previous year.

Out of 28 groups performing, ten were from East Tennessee and three from Hamilton County.

The three Hamilton County school programs participating in this year's
festival were: Soddy-Daisy High School Symphonic Band, Rick Chambers, director; Ooltewah High School Symphonic Band, Joel Denton, director; and Chattanooga School for the Arts & Sciences Symphonic Band, David Butler, director
