Firefighters were quickly dispatched to 507 Sharondale Dr. off South Terrace. East Ridge 806 arrived on the scene within seconds, followed by East Ridge Engine 2.
A primary report was made of light smoke showing from a single-family dwelling. A primary attack hose line was pulled from the engine and the firefighters quickly entered the structure from the front door.
An immediate "All Call" went out for assistance from all East Ridge firefighters due to fire crews already being tied up all over their city.
Within minutes, firefighters discovered the seat of the fire in a utility room and knocked it down. Additional firefighters and equipment arrived on the scene and assisted with ventilating the structure so the fire crew could assure they had completely extinguished the fire.
The quick and precise work of the initial attack crew lessened the amount of damage to the structure and saved the owners' belongings from major damage. The exact cause of the fire is still under investigation.
