City May Hire Coyote Catcher posted July 12, 2006 Coyotes are on the prowl in Chattanooga - even in downtown areas, and the city is looking into hiring a coyote catcher. Steve Leach, city public works administrator, said coyotes are increasingly coming closer and closer to downtown. Mr. Leach said his office has received a number of requests from citizens concerned about the coyotes. He said there has been no report of a coyote harming a human here, saying they mainly shy away from people. But he said there have been a number of reports of coyotes eating pets. Mr. Leach said the city may hire a firm that specializes in catching coyotes and euthanizing them. |
