Korean War Veteran Retired From Tuftco

Bobby L. Miller, a lifelong resident of Chattanooga, died on Saturday, July 15, 2006. He was 75 years old.
He and his wife, JoAnn Rockholt Miller, would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Sept. 9, 2006. Bobby grew up in Eastdale with seven older brothers and a baby sister, Rosalie Miller Goldston. He and his brothers, Ralph, George, Alfred, Thomas, Stanley, W.A. and Willard "Tater" spent their days at the Brainerd Golf Course, where all the boys were well-known for their love of the game.
Bobby was a decorated veteran of the U.S. Army and proudly served his country in the Korean War. He was a longtime member of American Legion Post 95. He retired from Tuftco after a long career and many years of international travel.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Pearl and Amos Miller, and six brothers.
Most importantly, he was a wonderful husband and fun-loving father to three children, daughter, Angie Miller (Bud) Lewallen, Jeff (Debbie) Miller and Kelley Miller Carter. He was "Poppy" to four grandchildren, Tiffany Miller (Brian) Givens, Meredith Lewallen, Bailey Wamp and Parker Wamp. He also is survived by one sister, Rosalie Miller Goldston, and one brother, W.A. Miller Jr.
Graveside services with full military honors, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday afternoon, in Chattanooga National Cemetery with the Rev. Sterling Jetton officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to Spring Creek Road Baptist Church, 1312 Spring Creek Road, Chattanooga, TN 37412, or to the Ronald McDonald House, 200 Central Ave., Chattanooga, TN 37403.
The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Monday at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
