Doggie Paddle Pool Party Scheduled For Saturday
posted August 1, 2006

The 3rd annual Doggie Paddle Pool Party canine swim will be on Saturday, August 12 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.

Proceeds benefit the McKamey Animal Care and Adoption Center. Hosted by the Warner Park pool, this event has become a summer-time tradition among hot dogs who want to stay cool.

For only $5 per dog, dogs may swim in the Olympic-sized pool or take a dip in the two smaller wading pools. Participants will receive a goody bag while supplies last.

"It's a safe, fun way for dogs and their owners to re-enforce the human-animal bond, socialize with others and raise funds for the McKamey Animal Care and Adoption Center," says Donna Deweese, Community Outreach Coordinator for the Animal Care Trust.

Participants are asked to follow a few rules as part of proper pooch party etiquette: owners must accompany their dogs, dogs must be leashed when outside pool area, dogs must display current rabies and ID tag on collar, owners must clean up after their dogs (bags will be provided), and aggressive dogs will be asked to leave.
